Overseas Tag-Along

Ok, time for something official.

I would like to invite couples who are attracted to my photography style to join me on some overseas pre-wedding/post-wedding shoots in

3rd week of June in Bali
3rd week of September in Macau.

The above 2 trips are confirmed and attractive special rates apply.
If you have other destinations and dates in mind, pls contact me as I am always keen on going to new places in search for new inspirations.

The Move

Amidst the chaos of postponed rain-induced photoshoots, lost internet connection, bout of flu, furniture shopping, packing, removal and getting ready for house-moving, I have inadvertably relegated blogging to the backburner.

Throughout my life, i must say I have moved many times. Let's not talk about childhood days because I didn't have to lift a finger. From university days till now, I have lived in Clementi, Bishan, Serangoon Garden and Punggol. And all these combined cannot match the colossal hassle that I am going through now for the next move.

I believe one reason for this is my daughter Yu Wen. You see, baby occupies perhaps only 1% of the floor space when she sleeps, but the amount of stuff she has can fill half the flat. And alot of it is mighty big items to boot. I don't understand why they have to make toys so big for a girl so small. The playpen, even after collapsing, is still bulky, not to mention those spongy alphabet and number mats, if even when i wanted to throw them down the rubbish chute, have to throw like at least 36 times (26 letters plus 10 numbers) before I can clear everything!

News reports that renovation cost has risen more than 20% and no wonder I am constantly short of money. It wouldn't be such a hassle if I have a huge budget. The problem is I don't have one and everyone can testify how hard it is to look for something that's not too ex and quite good (I am a non-believer of cheap-and-good).

After this episode, my wife claims that she won't be able to stomach another move again.

Well, let's see.

Weekday Warriors

Suddenly, weekday football sessions seem to be happening everywhere.
Sometimes, I lament the lack of playing time on weekends due to wedding commitments, and how I wish I can at least play a game or two on weekdays.

After prolonged periods of inactivity, the body feels flabby, lethargic and generally a sense of ill health. It's always good to have exercise on a regular basis.

Now, my prayer is answered because the weekday games come not once, but thrice.
I have my usual weekend kakis expanding their routine beyond just a weekend game, and another group who plays in an undisclosed location (sensitive info) and my fellow WPN photographers also getting into the act, with Kelvin and Yu Hsin taking the lead in organising games. So when I play will depend on which day I am appointment-free. It's a good problem to have, and I am now looking forward to each football session.

When my body feels (yes, feels, not is) fit, I have an extra vigour when it comes to shooting too. Anyway, here are some images taken in a February wedding.

I Shot The Angels

I've always taken great pleasure in working with people from Angels Atelier. They are sincere, pleasant and certainly have great-looking gowns too. I had the honour to do a photo shoot for their new line of gowns some time back.

Here's a preview of what's to come from them.

There's Only One Rochester

I've shot at One Rochester a few times, but surprisingly never in daylight.
It was my first shoot there with the place bathed in warm sunlight. I think Rochester Park at night is all about ambience: the area is freaking dark but you have these tea lights/candles/spot lights that cast nice shadows all over the place; where you can hear crickets sing and one look up the sky, the moon and stars are never far away.

However, it's only in daylight one can appreciate the unabashed nudity. Visually, it makes for a more stunning treat, with the reds and greens and whites blending into a riot of kaleidescope. I think that's why Willy & Denise chose the place as their wedding venue.

Handsome couple, nice music, good food, and sporting guests...all excellent ingredients of a nice album (in the making). After the wedding, I could even join my mates for a football session. Now, that's what I called a good day's work.
