Having seen so many tearing fathers giving away their precious daughters, I, too, dread the day when I have to give away mine. Will I be a difficult and jealous father-in-law like Robert De Niro in Meet The Parents? I am not losing sleep yet...after all, it's still a couple of decades away. I might not even live that long.
Another point he mentioned is the direction of wedding photography.
I realise that too often, I've been shooting weddings the way what the general public expects to see in wedding photographs as those published in wedding magazines. They are beautiful, but not exactly what I'd shoot if I'm not paid to do it. I'd love to shoot for myself, and not to shoot wedding photos with greater appeal.
By saying this, I know I am a lousy businessman. It's like giving up on the chicken rice stall and sell organic vegetarian burgers instead. The chickens sell by the truck loads, but the vegetables extends the sell-by dates of the bodies. I hope my wedding photos will have a longer shelf-life.

Talking about dadas giving away their precious daughters... Sigh! The day my parents went to get my Jia4 Zhuang1 with us, my dad cried in public when he told Weiji to take good care of me! :-P
It was embarrassing, as we had just about walked out of the jewellery shop, and my dad's emotions overwhelmed him. I cried too when I saw my dad's tears, so did my mum. Hahaha!!! Passers-by would have thought that we had no money for the jewellery!
Dad's the best in the eyes of daughters, I'd tell you that! :-)
